I do not want to go on a rant this early in the blessed am, but I do want to state something that is important…I’m not a florist. I have no intentions of doing weddings.

I’ve recently seen some of the latest and greatest “popular” floral designs and have found I am not a fan. I’m a fan of old school rules, the rules of three, the rule of symmetry, and doing what like, not what is popular at the time.

If I had someone who showed up at my door wanting jars full of flowers for her outdoor wedding, whimsical and free, I’d do it in a heartbeat, but if someone is looking for formal, uptight and constraining, that’s not a job for me.

I’ve updated my front page a bit to reflect that and be a bit more clear as to what my mission is. I just want to grow flowers, gourds, vegetables and fruit, share all of them and enjoy the process along the way!

Hope everyone out there is doing well today. Our snow has almost gone away, and temps are back up into the 40’s. I’ll be blogging about the sweet peas soon.
